Ramollo is one of
my 'later' characters, making his first appearance in early 1990. He's
an insignificant loner who gradually forms an ambiguous love-hate partnership
with the Illegal Batman, who appears in all the Ramollo stories. Throoughout
the course of his short life, Ramollo (whose name means "softy"
in French) finds his circumstances get progressively worse. Losing his
job as a bank clerk, he becomes a hobo, then turns into a dog. In his
most recent story Easter Song, he ends up amputated. Harley Richardson
has noted Ramollo's main character trait is that he always feels guilty,
even when he hasn't done anything wrong.
